 Brian T. McManus - Chairman

Mr. McManus is a graduate of the Notre Dame School In Niles, Illinois; the University of Colorado at Boulder; the Travelers Insurance Company Underwriting School, Hartford, Connecticut; and the Surety School of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, also in Hartford, Connecticut. He has completed additional program work at the Harvard Business School, and is resident in our Chicago Office.

He has 32 years of insurance broking and surety bond underwriting experience and specializes in complicated construction insurance programs; surety bond underwriting and placement, and self insurance systems.

Having previously worked in construction in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. McManus began his insurance career in 1970 as a Lloyds brokerage trainee in London, England with the Stewart Smith Company, a prominent producer of business at Lloyds of London.

Upon returning to Chicago, he became a vice-president with McManus & Pellouchoud Inc., one of Chicago's largest regional brokerage firms.

In 1982, Mr. McManus founded the Robert B. McManus Company and has remained its Chief Executive Officer ever since. At various times, Mr. McManus has represented up to seven of the nation's largest construction firms for all of their insurance and surety needs. He was a principal brokerage placer for several of the world's largest "deep tunnel" construction projects.

Mr. McManus has served on the boards of the Hispanic-American Contractors Association; the Loyola Ronald McDonald House of Chicago; and Fairfield Tuttle & Stueck, Inc. He is a member of the Barrington Hills Golf Club and the Vesper Club of Philadelphia.

A broker with a national practice, Mr. McManus has consulted with construction and development firms all across the nation.

 Frank A. Serra - President  

Mr. Serra is a graduate of the Locust Valley High School, Locust Valley, New York; the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; the United States Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island; and the Fundamentals of Management and Business Administration Program at the Columbia Business School, New York. He also holds a certificate in Property and Casualty Insurance from the Travelers Insurance Company Underwriting School; a certificate in Suretyship from the National Association of Surety Bond Producers School; and a certificate in Negotiation, GameTheory, and Competitive Decision Making from the Harvard Business School.

He has thirty plus years of experience in Insurance Broking and Risk Management Consulting, and has specialized in Insurance Programs for Financial Institutions. He was formerly a 2ndVice-President with Alexander & Alexander, Inc., having served in both their Wall Street office in New York and in Philadelphia.

A resident of Wyncote, PA, Mr. Serra is a former Vestryman at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Whitemarsh; the President of the T. James Fernley III, Fund for Theological Education, Philadelphia; has served as a board member for the Academy of Community Music, Fort Washington; the Knoblauch Private Bank, Philadelphia; the Resource Development Company, Ohio; and as an active member of the First Troop, Philadelphia City Cavalry (First City Troop).

A Navy Veteran, Mr. Serra served with a Seabee Battalion during the Viet Nam War, and later with President Richard M. Nixon's Presidential Declassification Team at the National Archives in Washington, D. C. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as a volunteer, and a Presidential Certificate of Appreciation for his service.

 Marvin J. Klein - Executive Vice President  
Mr. Klein is a graduate of The Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA; Temple University, Philadelphia and also holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from Temple.

Mr. Klein has 30 years of experience in Insurance Broking and Insurance Company Management. He served as President and C.O.O. of Great Valley Insurance, an excess of loss reinsurer domiciled in Georgetown, Grand Cayman, and as a Board Member for The London & Philadelphia Insurance Company.

He currently serves on the Boards of Temple Keneseth Israel; William Penn Charities; and as a member of the House Committee for the Union League of Philadelphia.

Mr. Klein specializes in insurance programs for Non-Profit Organizations including many National Associations in Washington, D.C.

 
 Jacquie G. Swanson - Vice President  
Ms. Swanson is a graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School, Philadelphia, PA. She has taken a number of insurance courses including several C.P.C.U. courses.

She has 20 years of experience in the insurance field, specializing in Personal Insurance services. These 20 years have been with MS&K. Ms. Swanson is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, California, and Delaware.

A resident of Philadelphia, Ms. Swanson served as the President of the Catholic Youth Organization at Stella Maris School, Philadelphia, for three years, and is currently the Treasurer of the Home and School Association at Stella Maris.
